When signing off training items for a person this date specifies when the person actually completed the item(s) in question.

You may be signing off items completed last month - this is the date that will be recorded in the person´s log as when they actually completed the item(s).

This date defaults to today´s date but can (and should) be changed to indicate the date when the item(s) were completed. It is therefore important that if several items were completed on different dates - only those completed on the same date be signed off in the same transaction.
